One of our favourite traditions is returning to MBIZI after a relaxed afternoon in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.

Choose a bottle from our curated wine fridge, featuring a selection of local favourites from Benguela Cove and Spring Fontain, prepare a small platter to share and settle into one of the loungers as the last golden light dances across the lagoon.

There is no schedule. No rush. Just the gentle sound of nature, the mountains glowing in the evening sun and another unforgettable South African sunset unfolding before you.

And sometimes, just when you think the evening couldn't become any more magical, a few wild horses quietly wander past the terrace. We always remind our guests not to approach or feed them. The funny thing is... nobody seems to have told the horses they're supposed to keep their distance.

Every now and then they stroll past the pool, pause for a curious glance or simply continue on their way, as if sharing the sunset with you was the most natural thing in the world.

It's these unexpected moments that turn a wonderful holiday into a lifelong memory.
