Nestled between the Bot River Lagoon, the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains of the Whale Coast, MBIZI lagoon house enjoys one of the most extraordinary settings in the entire region. Here, nature sets the rhythm of your stay – from the first rays of sunrise to the last colours of the evening sky.
Wake up to panoramic views across the lagoon, stroll to miles of unspoilt sandy beach within minutes or watch the famous wild horses of Fisherhaven as they quietly wander past the house. Whether you're looking for peaceful mornings, spectacular sunsets or unforgettable outdoor adventures, everything begins right on your doorstep.
What we love most about MBIZI: Here, you never have to choose between the lagoon, the ocean, the mountains and unspoilt nature. They all come together in one remarkable place, creating an atmosphere that is both wonderfully peaceful and endlessly inspiring – while still being just minutes away from the very best experiences the Whale Coast has to offer.
✨ Our Favourite MBIZI Moment: One of our favourite things to do is simply head out without a plan. When the lagoon is low, a wide sandy shoreline leads almost all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. When the water is higher, you can launch one of the kayaks directly from the house, paddle across the lagoon and step onto the endless beach on the other side.
Reaching the Atlantic this way — on foot or by kayak — feels like discovering your own hidden corner of the Whale Coast. The landscape changes with the seasons, yet the feeling always remains the same: wild, peaceful and unforgettable.

The generous outdoor spaces at MBIZI lagoon house have been designed so that everyone can discover their own favourite place. At the heart of it all is the spacious terrace with its infinity pool and uninterrupted views across the Bot River Lagoon. Four comfortable sun loungers with cushions, two large umbrellas, floating pool cushions, generous beach towels and plenty of side tables invite you to slow down and enjoy the scenery.
The private outdoor spaces connected to the bedrooms offer even more opportunities to relax. Jua features a private covered balcony with two comfortable hanging chairs overlooking the lagoon. The covered balcony outside the master bedroom, MBIZI, is furnished with two elegant lounge chairs – the perfect place to start the day with a coffee or end it with a glass of South African wine. Outside Maji, on the ground floor, two further hanging chairs create another peaceful spot beside the pool terrace.
For shared moments, the terrace offers a large extendable dining table for up to eight guests. Together with the gas barbecue, it quickly becomes the heart of long summer evenings filled with great food, laughter and unforgettable conversations.
What we love most about our outdoor spaces: Every corner has its own unique character. Whether you're relaxing by the pool, enjoying one of the private balconies, unwinding in the hanging chairs or gathering around the dining table, you'll always find a place to appreciate the peace, the wide-open views and the extraordinary beauty surrounding MBIZI.
✨ Our Favourite MBIZI Moment: Pour yourself a glass of South African wine, settle into one of the loungers as the sun slowly disappears behind the mountains and simply watch the lagoon change colour. If you're lucky, the wild horses may wander past just as the last light begins to fade. It's one of those simple, magical moments that reminds us why we fell in love with MBIZI.

At MBIZI lagoon house, the open-plan kitchen is much more than a place to cook. It brings together the kitchen, dining area and terrace to create one generous living space, always accompanied by uninterrupted views across the Bot River Lagoon.
Whether you're preparing breakfast, cooking dinner, gathering around the dining table or enjoying a meal outside on the terrace, the lagoon is always part of the experience. From your very first coffee in the morning to relaxed evenings with family and friends, nature never feels far away.
The fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a large gas hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, wine fridge, coffee machine, premium cookware and quality tableware. A true highlight is the traditional indoor braai, bringing the authentic South African braai experience indoors all year round.
Right beside the kitchen, the bar with three stools is the perfect place to keep the cook company, enjoy a glass of wine or simply chat while dinner is being prepared. An additional breakfast bar with two more stools provides extra space for preparing food, serving breakfast or gathering together before heading out for the day.
The large indoor dining table comfortably seats eight guests, while the outdoor dining area and gas barbecue invite you to enjoy long lunches and unforgettable evenings under the open sky.
Upstairs, you'll also find a coffee and refreshment station with its own fridge – ideal for an early morning coffee or a cold drink without having to head downstairs.
✨ Our Favourite MBIZI Moment: One of our favourite moments is preparing dinner while the late afternoon light slowly fills the house. Some are already setting the table on the terrace, others are chatting around the bar, while someone else is putting the finishing touches on dinner. Somehow it always feels as though everyone is together, even while doing different things. That's what we love most about MBIZI – the effortless connection between the kitchen, the living spaces and the outdoors.

Like the bedrooms, the two living areas have their own African names: Zulu upstairs and Bahari downstairs. Both have been thoughtfully designed to bring people together while giving everyone the space to enjoy their own perfect holiday moments. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill both living areas with natural light and frame breathtaking views across the Bot River Lagoon, the surrounding mountains and, in the distance, the Atlantic Ocean.
Zulu, the upstairs lounge, invites you to relax with its cosy gas fireplace, generous sofa and spectacular panoramic views. Whether you're reading a book, watching a movie on the large Smart TV or simply enjoying the ever-changing scenery, it's a place where time seems to slow down.
Bahari, the downstairs lounge, offers another inviting space to unwind. Comfortable lounge furniture, a traditional wood-burning fireplace and an additional gas fireplace create a wonderfully cosy atmosphere after a day spent exploring the Whale Coast. With direct access to the terrace, indoors and outdoors blend together effortlessly. For families and groups of friends, having two spacious living areas means everyone can be together while still enjoying their own favourite space.
What we love most about this open-plan design: Although the house is wonderfully spacious, it always feels connected. The kitchen, dining area, living spaces and terrace flow naturally into one another, creating the feeling of one generous living environment with the lagoon always close by.
✨ Our Favourite MBIZI Moment: On cooler evenings, we love lighting the fireplace while dusk slowly settles over the lagoon. Inside, the fire crackles softly. Outside, the last colours of the day reflect on the water. These peaceful moments are when MBIZI feels less like a holiday house and more like a place you'll never want to leave.

Every bedroom at MBIZI lagoon house has been designed as a peaceful retreat – spacious, filled with natural light and with its own unique character. Large windows bring the surrounding landscape indoors, allowing you to wake up each morning to beautiful views across the Bot River Lagoon or the peaceful natural surroundings.
The spacious Master Bedroom – MBIZI features a comfortable extra-long king-size bed, a private balcony, an elegant en-suite bathroom and a dedicated workspace – ideal for guests who want to combine relaxation with a little remote working.
Moyo, the second upstairs bedroom, also offers an extra-long king-size bed. As the second-largest bedroom in the house, it has been designed as a particularly peaceful retreat – perfect for guests who appreciate a little extra space and quiet.
Jua, the third upstairs bedroom, features a comfortable queen-size bed and a private covered balcony with two hanging chairs overlooking the lagoon – a wonderful place to greet the sunrise or unwind at the end of the day.
The downstairs bedroom, Maji, also offers a high-quality queen-size bed and opens directly onto the pool terrace – perfect for guests who enjoy stepping outside first thing in the morning.
All beds feature premium Sloom mattresses, luxurious mattress toppers and – something many of our European guests especially appreciate – two individual duvets instead of one shared duvet, allowing everyone to enjoy their own perfect night's sleep.
Three of the four bedrooms are equipped with elegant TV lift cabinets. At the touch of a button, the television rises smoothly from the foot of the bed for a cosy movie night before disappearing just as effortlessly, leaving the beautiful views completely uninterrupted the next morning.
✨ Our Favourite MBIZI Moment: Wake up just a little earlier than everyone else, make yourself a coffee and step onto the balcony or terrace. As the first light slowly reaches the mountains, the lagoon begins to awaken. Birds start their morning chorus, the water is perfectly still and, if you're lucky, the wild horses quietly wander by. There are few more beautiful ways to begin a new day at MBIZI.

The four bathrooms at MBIZI lagoon house combine contemporary design with thoughtful comfort, creating inviting spaces where you can start your day feeling refreshed or unwind completely after another unforgettable day on the Whale Coast.
The open-plan Master Bathroom features a freestanding bathtub, a spacious walk-in rainfall shower, a double vanity and an open toilet area. It feels more like a boutique hotel or private spa than a holiday home.
The second upstairs bathroom also offers a bathtub together with a separate walk-in rainfall shower, giving you the best of both worlds.
Downstairs, you'll find two recently renovated bathrooms. One features a spacious walk-in rainfall shower with massage jets, while the other combines a comfortable bathtub with a shower screen, making it ideal for families or longer stays.
A special highlight is the private outdoor shower. After a swim in the infinity pool, a day at the beach or a kayaking adventure on the lagoon, there's something wonderfully refreshing about rinsing off beneath the open sky. For many of our guests, this authentic South African experience becomes one of the most memorable parts of their stay.
All showers are walk-in, barrier-free rainfall showers. Every bathroom also features illuminated LED mirrors as well as lighted magnifying mirrors, making it easy to get ready at any time of day.
To make your stay even more comfortable, each bathroom is fully stocked with premium shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand soap, together with facial tissues, cotton buds and dental floss picks. You'll also find plenty of soft towels in a variety of sizes waiting for you from the moment you arrive.
